The Fixin' To
www.thefixinto.com

Portland Bar, Southern Soul. Spirits, small plates, and plenty of cheer located in the heart of St. Johns.

The three owners of The Fixin' To needed a website that served as a calling card for their bar/restaurant. They asked that it be "warm, inviting, and a little kitschy with a southern, hipster feel". Yes, I was a little overwhelmed by those adjectives. So I kept it simple and started with their logo, a turqoise trailer, and created a small St. Johns diorama to hug it. Aw.

A. Hana Design
www.ahanadesign.com

Detailed, thoughtful and creative floral design based in San Francisco, specializing in weddings and events.

Asako and her husband Daniel were looking for something classic and simple that could serve as a base for the photos of her amazing floral arrangements. I gave the site a textured feel, trying to keep it light and airy-feeling to showcase her arrangements above all else. In the logo design, I tried to make it look as whimsical and alive as her work.

Green Drop Garage

ss
Portland-based full service garage, specializing in alternative, earth friendly vegetable oil conversions.

ss
Farhad's shop serves as more than your standard automotive shop, so I wanted to give the site the "green" feel he was looking for to represent his environmentally friendly work as well. I wanted the look to be both grungy and green with an approachable feel to work with his attitude and dedication to the community and environmental outreach. I applied the look to his stickers and business cards, as well.

Nadia Artistry

ss
Professional Makeup, light hairstyling, and wardrobe styling for weddings, fashion, runway, tv/movies, & events.

ss
Nadia wanted her site to be sleek, classic, and simple enough to really highlight the photos of her makeup and styling work. My approach was to create a basic flash site that would be easy for clients to navigate, have basic information about her services, and a fun flash photo gallery of her work to browse through. A good Metric song playing while you browse is pretty cool, too.

Marnie Cobbs & The Uphill House
www.marniecobbs.com

ss
Talented book-binder, painter and poet based in New Hampshire. Specializes in rare book projects.

ss
Marnie gave me free reign to design what I felt would match the look and feel of her own work. After hours perusing her book-bindry and pouring over her paintings and poems, I decided to give the site a tactile feel so the viewer feels they're in Marnie's studio along with her. I used her paintings in the side headers and made the background a fresh green to represent her commitment to nature and the great outdoors.

Dog Shore
www.dogshore.com

ss
Bay Area-based company specializing in daily dog walks, pet sitting, off-leash adventuring, and puppy playgroups.

ss
This website was the first I've created where the client insisted on a very limited palate of colors. Blue, beige, and white. GASP! With her dislike for textured elements, I was encouraged to keep the design sleek and simple, easy to navigate. Thrilled to unleash paw prints, I did. :) What resulted was use of very basic colors and elements to create a fresh learning experience for the dog lover/viewer.

Katie and Brian
www.ktbrian.com

ss
These two lovebirds wanted a website where they could include all of the necessary information concerning their upcoming nuptials.

ss
Katie are from opposite ends of the world and met while sailing around it. Their guests were coming from everywhere so my design approach was to make something fresh and easy to read for friends and family, while keeping with their funky, global vibe. I kept the headers colorful, using photos I took from their fun engagement, and used handwritten, bright colored fonts.

Hannah and Alex
www.hannahandalex.com

After their childhood-themed engagement photo shoot, these guys wanted a website that was playful yet easy to navigate for guests.

Since Hannah and Alex met in elementary school and grew up in the same neighborhood, I wanted to incorporate their photos into the headers to keep their fun, childlike tone. I kept the site framework simple so that it wouldn't get too cluttered, but added some colorful fonts and colors here and there to coordinate and keep it fresh-looking and cheerful.

Satchel Studio
www.satchel-studio.com

ss
San Francisco-based collaged messenger bag company, focus on custom designs and sturdy bags. Be proud of your baggage!

ss
This is my old company, Satchel Studio, which I miss dearly. I wanted the feel of the site to be easily navigable but also have a sort of colorful, grungy feel to match the art work and the customers who purchased by bags. This spring I will begin to sell my bags on my etsy store again, so keep an eye out!
